Fees and Terms of EngagementExecutive search firms generally propose to work with their clients on a retained basis, whereby payment of their professional fees is not contingent upon a job offer or acceptance of a job offer. The fee typically reflects one third of the total annual cash compensation consisting of base salary and estimated bonus for the first year.Harbour Fields wishes to build working relationships with its clients whereby the compensation of efforts reflects the eventual result achieved and performance delivered. Also, we see insufficient justification in fee structures based on a percentage in cases where total annual compensation exceeds a certain level, and rather propose a structure related to estimated efforts, based on our best practice experience and effectiveness of our network, database and research capabilities. Quite regularly, this leads us to propose a fixed fee. The fee will be billed in three equal instalments, with the first instalment invoiced upon authorisation of the assignment, the second upon presentation of at least three candidates meeting the majority of the function criteria, and the third after completion of the assignment. Extraordinary expenses such as air travel will be charged separately after your prior approval. Off limit policyHarbour Fields will not recruit employees of its client organisations for a period of one year following the conclusion of the latest assignment. Exceptions to this policy occur when the client supports certain employees in seeking other employment opportunities or authorises an exception.ExclusivityTo avoid confusion in the market place, we generally ask that only one recruitment procedure is followed. Consequently, clients are asked to not advertise or use any other recruitment method whilst we are executing the assignment and refer to us for consideration any potential candidates already known to them or presenting themselves spontaneously.GuaranteeShould a candidate, for whatever reason other than illness, accidents, injuries, significant change in ownership or significant organisational changes, not assume the position or leave the client’s company within 6 months after joining, Harbour Fields will endeavour to replace the candidate on a no fee basis and only charge for regular expenses. |
