Search Methodology and approachHarbour Fields conducts executive search assignments in accordance with best business practice quality assurance standards and procedures; Our research efforts will focus on experienced and successful potential candidates who meet the agreed profile requirements. Our objective is to identify and present well-qualified candidates who we believe could contribute significantly to our clients' future profitable growth. Our approach to an executive search assignment is characterised by a systematic and active approach to the marketplace. Potentially qualified candidates will be identified with the targeted organisations and be placed on a "long-list". Long-listed potential candidates will be approached directly, however always discretely, and those expressing initial interest will be provided a document informing them on the nature of the company, position and required qualifications. During the identification phase we will have first introductory telephone interviews. During the selection phase we shall conduct personal and detailed interviews with motivated and seemingly qualified potential candidates. This will ultimately most likely result in the selection of 3 to 5 candidates who on the basis of the defined specifications qualify for the position. They should meet the profile requirements to a large extent and should, in confrontation with the client, make the impression of being viable candidates, willing to accept the vacant position eventually. These short-listed candidates will be presented by means of a standardised curriculum vitae and a detailed confidential report. In order to ensure the essential attention to all relevant aspects of this critical phase of the recruitment process, and to obtain relevant feedback, the Harbour Fields consultant will propose to personally introduce the candidates and be present at the first interviews. As and when requested, the Harbour Fields consultant will coordinate and support the process following the initial interviews and check relevant references of candidates who are considered for a job offer. He will regularly report on the progress and results of the search process and communicate general comments, findings and reactions concerning the position, received in the course of the assignment. Time scaleOnce Harbour Fields has been formally authorised to execute the assignment, the search activities will be started immediately, aimed at presenting candidates within six to eight weeks or so much earlier as possible.Wherever required to shorten the first stages of the process, potential candidates will be approached in parallel with the production of the long-list. In addition, interviews with potential candidates will be brought forward where possible by prioritising the assignment and accommodating interviews outside working hours. The teamOur practice is to staff all assignments with two consultants working with appropriate research support. The consultant with prime responsibility works with the client to develop company, position and person profiles and controls the research, interviewing and subsequent processes. The consultant assigned as co-responsible serves as a back-up, sounding board and advisor throughout the assignment. They can at all times be contacted and will always be aware of the actual situation. |
